Under The Sheets (2017) was Amelia’s first exploration of performance and endurance art, themes that would later become central to her practice. This early project examines the widespread impact of depression, the experience of isolation, and the weight of intrusive thoughts—issues that can affect anyone, at any time.
Inspired by artist scores of the 1960s Fluxus movement, Under The Sheets invited audiences to engage with the performance either as active participants or as silent observers, creating a layered and deeply personal experience. By moving the work beyond gallery walls, the performance offered a realistic reflection of how mental health is viewed within society, challenging stigmas and sparking conversation about these universal struggles.
